Each year, the Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) recognizes schools in Ontario that have effectively utilized data to support student learning. This year, Springbrook Public School is among 22 schools to receive the prestigious Dr. Bette M. Stephenson Recognition of Achievement for its tremendous work in nurturing students' passion for math, fostering positive attitudes and using strategies that lead to academic success.
"It's such a great feeling for our entire school community to receive this award. Our staff work very hard to support student's learnings and ensure they have the support needed to succeed. This award is also a testament to the hard work and determination of Springbrook students who ensure they unlock their full potential through their everyday learnings," said Margaret Harnarine-Ali, principal at Springbrook.
The award is named in honour of Dr. Bette M. Stephenson, former Minister of Education and former minister of Colleges and Universities in Ontario. She is also currently director emeritus on EQAO's board of directors.
