Queenston Drive’s student-led Change NOW Committee recently held their fifth annual Week of We event. This school-wide event aims to promote global awareness for Free the Children. Each day was dedicated to one of five Free The Children pillars: education, clean water, health, alternative income and livelihood and agriculture and food security. Queenston Drive also held a Mini WE Day on June 12, where special guests Canadian spoken word artist and motivational speaker Dwayne Morgan and Vishal Vijay, co-founder of Children in Action spoke to students about identity and making a difference.
The student committee’s past campaigns include We Scare Hunger, Holiday Gift Drive, We Bake for Change, and We Create Change. Queenston students campaigned to fundraise more than 30 goats for Free the Children's Year of Empowerment.
