Agnes Taylor students make Peel proud at regional literature competition

Students from Agnes Taylor Public School participated in the Kids' Lit Quiz Regional Heat at Armour Heights Public School in Toronto on Feb. 5. Aimed for children aged 10 to 13, this literature competition puts readers onto the stage and lets them compete for fantastic prizes by answering questions about books that they have read in teams. The 'Sport of Reading' was started in 1991 in New Zealand as a way to challenge and celebrate avid readers the way athletes are lauded in schools. Agnes Taylor students did very well in the competition, with one team receiving the sportsmanship award for how well they worked together as a team.
