Peel schools not affected by potential one-day ETFO strikes on Jan. 20, 21 or OSSTF strike on Jan. 21

This week, the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario (ETFO) and Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation (OSSTF) announced one-day strikes on Jan. 20 and 21, and Jan. 21, respectively, unless progress is made at the central bargaining table. These one-day strikes will NOT affect the Peel District School Board, though other school boards are impacted.

As there may be future one-day strikes that do not affect Peel board families, moving forward, we will only provide updates via email and website posts if Peel board schools are impacted.

Please note, Monday, Jan. 20, 2020 remains a Professional Activity (PA) Day for elementary schools, so elementary (kindergarten to grade 8) students should not come to school. It is a regular school day for secondary students (grade 9 to 12).

Again, Peel District School Board ETFO and OSSTF members will not be engaged in a full withdrawal of service on Jan. 20 or 21. ETFO and OSSTF members will, however, be continuing their current job action, including information pickets.

Thank you for your ongoing understanding during these challenging times.
