Peel board recognizes Remembrance Day with moment of silence

Chair of the board, Janet McDougald led a moment of silence to reflect on and recognize the men and women who fought for Canada’s freedom, and honour those who are serving our country today.

Peel schools also commemorated Remembrance Day with special assemblies and various activities.

Peel Custodial and Maintenance Workers Appreciation Day

The board declared the last Friday in November as Peel Custodial and Maintenance Workers Appreciation Day to recognize the important work of custodial and maintenance workers, and to acknowledge the contributions that they make in the lives of our staff and students, and the overall betterment of Peel schools. This year, Peel Custodial and Maintenance Workers Appreciation Day will be on Nov. 28, 2014.

Retirements

Trustees recognized the contributions and years of service of the following staff who have/are retiring:

Doreen Johnson, principal, will retire Nov. 17
Alena Krula, teacher, retired Oct. 31
Catherine LaPorte, teacher, will retire Jan. 31
Maria Larizza, school attendant, retired Oct. 31
Rosa Maio, custodian, will retire Dec. 31
