Board appoints Jagdeep Mann as trustee for Brampton wards 9/10
As the result of the resignation of Trustee Harinder Malhi, the board has appointed Jagdeep Mann as trustee for Brampton Wards 9/10 until the end of the term of office on Nov. 30, 2014.
“It was impressive to see those who came forward willing to serve the community. I’m proud of the open and transparent process we followed as a board in selecting our interim trustee,” says Janet McDougald.
Trustee applications for the vacant position were accepted from July 7 to 11, and included an application form and a typed, one-page summary explaining why he/she should be the successful applicant for the position of Brampton Wards 9 & 10 Trustee. Candidates were interviewed in a 3 to 4 minute presentation, which was conducted in public session on July 23.
The motion to appoint a Peel resident who is an eligible public school elector to fill the vacant trustee role for Brampton wards 9/10 was approved by trustees at the Regular Meeting of the Board on June 18, 2014. The board advertised the vacancy and the application process in local newspapers, and on the board website.
Trustees recognized the contributions and years of service of the following staff member who is retiring:
