Board asks staff, students and parents to say "thank you" to bus drivers
The board approved Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, as the official date for Bus Driver Appreciation Day in Peel. The day is intended to be an opportunity to express appreciation to school bus drivers in Peel. Noted Janet McDougald, "Individual students, parents and schools all find their own ways to recognize the great work of Peel bus drivers. Our bus drivers provide tremendous service to children and we do appreciate their caring and hard work.
Enrolment capped for Beryl Ford Public School
The board has capped enrolment at Beryl Ford Public School at 45 classes (approximately 1,004 students) for the 2012-13 school year. Once the enrolment cap is reached, all students above this cap will be directed to Fairlawn Public School, which is being accommodated at the James Grieve Holding School for the 2012-13 school year. Transportation will be available to students who are directed to James Grieve as a result of the cap, provided they meet the Peel District School Board’s Transportation Policy #39 requirements.
Students directed to James Grieve Holding School will continue to be accommodated there for the remainder of the 2012-13 school year.
Board approves tender for school construction
The tender for the construction of Brameast #4 Public School was awarded to Remo General Contracting Ltd., at a cost of approximately $11.9 million, including HST.
Trustees appointed to flexible school boundary policy review committee
Trustees Beryl Ford, David Green and Sue Lawton were appointed to the Flexible School Boundary Policy Review Committee.

Lucinda Mukherjee, teacher, will retire Dec. 31
Domenic Tatone, teacher, will retire Nov. 30
Barbara Wiseman, office assistant, retired Oct. 1
