Delegations

Carol Postigo Brooks delegated the board regarding portables at Thomas Street Middle School.

Special presentation

Peel Children's Aid Society (CAS) President Juliet Jackson presented on Child Abuse Prevention Month, recognized annually in the month of October in schools to raise awareness on child abuse prevention. As part of this campaign, staff and students wore purple on Oct. 24 for Dress Purple Day to raise awareness and engaged on social media using the hashtag #IBreakTheSilence. This year, CAS launched their campaign at Harold F. Loughlin Public School on Oct. 17.

Trustees write letter to Ministry of Education regarding suspension of EQAO testing

Board trustees sent a letter to request the Ministry of Education to suspend EQAO testing for the 2017-18 school year. Trustees approved the motion at the regular meeting of the board held on October 10, 2017.

Board approves update to SAL Committee membership

Trustees approved community representatives for membership on the 2017-18 Supervised Alternative Learning (SAL) Committee at the regular meeting of the board held on September 26, 2017. Trustees approved the updated list for SAL Committee membership.
