Delegation

Jotvinder Sodhi delegated the board regarding the revised Health and Physical Education curriculum, school uniforms, and increased busing services.

Doug Speare delegated the board regarding French Immersion busing to Humberview S.S.

Marva Downer-Cousins, Kitri Chauhan and Sukhwinder Deol delegated the board regarding French Immersion busing to Humberview S.S.

Board congratulates recipients of Free For All Foundation 2015 Scholarship

The following nine Peel board graduates were selected by Free For All Foundation to receive scholarships in recognition of their demonstrated academic, athletic and social excellence within the community:

Trustees approved new French Immersion centres at the following schools, effective September 2016:

• David Leeder Middle School, Grades 6 – 8, commencing with Grade 6
• Bristol Road Middle School, Grades 6 – 8, commencing with Grade 6

Board approves Grade 1 French Immersion Class Caps

Trustees approved a cap on the number of Grade 1 French Immersion classes at the following schools, effective September 2016:

• Burnhamthorpe Public School
• Ingleborough Public School
• Churchville Public School
• Oscar Peterson Public School

Trustees appointed to Budget Development Committee

Trustees Nokha Dakroub, David Green and Sue Lawton, were appointed to the Budget Development Committee.

Board approves tenders for construction of public schools

Trustees approved the tender in the amount of $13,304,620 including HST for the construction of Mount Pleasant # 7 Public School to Remo General Contracting Ltd.

Trustees approved the tender in the amount of $13,424,400 including HST for the construction of Countryside Village Public School to Torcom Construction Inc.

Trustees approved the tender in the amount of $12,356,550 including HST for the construction of Credit Valley 3 #1 Public School to Percon Construction Inc.

The following elementary principal assignment will be effective November 30, 2015:

Matt McCutcheon from principal at SouthFields Village Public School to Manager of Human Resources Support Services
