At Middlebury Public School, our school motto reflects who we are and what we value - ”We Strive, We Thrive, We Grow.” When teachers and students strive to do their best in a caring and nurturing environment where all can thrive, everyone grows. These words were taken from our school song, “One World.” This inspiring song encourages us to share “the one place that we call home - the only place we have to call our own.”
The Middlebury “Three Cs” has been our code of conduct since the opening of the school in 1992. The three Cs are: Communication, Cooperation and Courtesy. The “C Team” is a group of grade 5 students who promote the Three Cs among the rest of the student body. These three traits provide additional support when teaching the six character traits for creating a positive climate for learning and working together.
Middlebury has fun and energetic physical education, dance and music programs. The running club, choirs and chess club are some of the exciting extracurricular activities open to children at specific grades. Once a day, a team of grade 5 students use the P.A system to broadcast a popular dance tune along with accompanying moves to be part of our daily physical activity (DPA).
Our school mascot is the dolphin. When most people think of a dolphin, they think of a friendly, kind and intelligent animal. Dolphins work well in a group and are known to help each other. A dolphin also appears to always have a smile. We feel that the dolphin portrays a positive image, one to be emulated by the staff and students of Middlebury.
Middlebury - where all of our staff and students believe "We strive, we thrive, we grow" and where we encourage smiles.
