At Meadowvale Village Public School we are a learning community working together to create a safe and inclusive environment where children develop the skills to be lifelong learners and reach their full potential. We strive to communicate and collaborate effectively with students, parents and teachers; achieve academic, social and emotional goals; and respect and take responsibility for yourself, others and the environment. At Meadowvale Village and beyond - everyone counts and we care! Children’s learning is our focus.
We value, a safe and healthy environment where each child is encouraged to achieve his/her full potential; individual learning styles and diversity within our learning community; the skills and knowledge to be successful problem solvers in an ever changing world; and positive, respectful and responsible attitudes toward self and community
At Meadowvale Village our code of behaviour and the way we treat others is guided by M.A.G.I.C. At assemblies students demonstrate their understanding of Manners (respect, care), Achievement (honesty), Good Sportsmanship (inclusive), Initiative (responsible) and Co-operation (co-operative). We continually celebrate the unique talents of our students whether it be in the classroom, in the hallways, at M.A.G.I.C. assemblies, concerts, O’Canada Idol or at Meadowvale Idol. Students have had unique opportunities to participate in primary, junior and honour choir, as well as various clubs including marketing, math, book, art, journaling, Lego, Triple R and gardening clubs. We offer an extensive amount of intramural activities for students, regardless of their abilities, from grades 1 to 5. Students are also encouraged to further develop their leadership skills by being classroom helpers, student announcers and joining the student parliament.
At Meadowvale Village we encourage parents and community members to take an active role in student success. We have a strong network of volunteers who share their time and expertise to support students in the classroom, through All Star Reading, class trips, Walking Wednesdays, pizza and sub days. Our school council supports such initiatives as The Fall Fair, Healthy Snack Day, Skating Day, Visiting Authors, field trips, and in-school performances, just to name a few. We understand that student success depends on the partnerships that are built with the families in our community.
