Roberta Bondar Public School is a kindergarten to grade 8 school located in west Brampton. Staff and students at Roberta Bondar are proud to be members of the Peel board’s first balanced calendar school. Our diverse community school fosters a learning environment that supports innovation and continuous learning, inspiring and empowering students to be successful lifelong learners. Gender specific classes, continuous learning opportunities offered through Camp Bondar, Camp I Can and Counting on You, dynamic school presenters and varied class trips are examples of innovative learning opportunities offered to students. At Roberta Bondar, staff, parents and local community members are committed to working together to support the learning of all students as they reach for the stars.
At Roberta Bondar, students are actively engaged in learning both in the classroom and through a variety of extracurricular activities. Students can choose from joining formal sports teams such as the basketball, cheerleading, cricket, football, soccer or cross-country teams or actively participate in our intramural program. There are also numerous opportunities for students to explore and develop their creative side through participation in choirs, bands, talent shows, step dancing clubs or musical productions. At Roberta Bondar, students are provided opportunities to develop their leadership skills by participating in activities such as Student Parliament, PALS and kindergarten helpers. In all cases we continue to foster integrity, collaboration and sportsmanship.
Students, staff, family and community members at Roberta Bondar are very proud of our Gold Status as an Ontario EcoSchool. The greening of Roberta Bondar began several years ago as a vision for a butterfly garden and outdoor classroom. Our other green school initiatives include litterless lunches, Walk to School Wednesdays and Passionate Earthling meetings with students and staff. Our environmental programs are embedded in our culture of learning.
