Claireville Public School is a kindergarten to grade 5 school, serving the community just north of Queen and west of Gore. Built in 2004, we still consider ourselves a “new” school as the surrounding neighbourhood has pockets of construction. Claireville also offers a before and after school PLASP program to provide flexibility for family work schedules.
There has always been a strong focus on technology in the building, with each classroom outfitted with internet access, computers and LCD projectors, in addition to our computer lab. Claireville’s physical layout centers around our gym, library and forum. We utilize these spaces to come together as a community for presentations and regular gatherings. The library is also central to our school community and as such, students regularly meet with the librarian to select from our multi-lingual book selection and learn about the world through literacy.
At Claireville, we work together for excellence in an environment of respect, trust and care. In our classrooms and through our commitment to exposing children to arts-based performances, we support a vision of nurturing the whole child and expanding their understanding of the world around them. Through collaboration and inquiry, we celebrate excellence and appreciate our diversity as a school community. We offer a wide range of activities for students to build their leadership skills.
