At Alloa Public School, students are encouraged through example to take responsibility for their learning and celebrate their achievement. Alloa's vision statement is: Alloa will be a dynamic and vibrant community of learning where we encourage and celebrate academic, athletic and social excellence.
Our values include: encouragement through inclusiveness; valuing the individual needs and learning styles of every student and the celebration of the diverse achievement of each member of our learning community.
By September 2013 we will increase Alloa's overall EQAO reading scores by 3%. Alloa's scores for grade 3 reading will increase from 58% - 61%. Alloa's grade 6 scores will increase from 66% - 69% of students achieving the provincial standard.
By June 2013, we will improve the collective sense of a safe, positive school climate by increasing positive student behaviours through a variety of proactive and responsive character and bullying prevention and intervention strategies.
We have many extracurricular activities from school musicals to athletics.
Our school council is very active and supportive of the staff and students in the school. Our annual QSP fundraiser helps fund our many initiatives.
