Nelson Mandela Public School has the honour of being named after a man recognized worldwide for his commitment to social activism as well as the rights and freedoms of all people. We are inspired by this connection and our staff work hard to foster an equitable, relevant and engaging environment for learning and working. When our school opened in September 2014 we knew that we wanted to build more than a school, we wanted to create a community hub filled with socially active learners and educators. We are proud to be active in our community and enjoy building strong, meaningful relationships with local partners.
We are passionate about the unique learning environment we are creating because we know that it is only through differentiated instruction, relevance and innovative thinking that we can inspire 21st Century learners to reach their full potential. We achieve these goals through a focus on professional development that encourages our teachers to analyze their practices through a critical lens and connect with their students through a variety of programs and activities. Our staff value these professional development opportunities as these skills will help them ignite the spark for learning.
"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." -Nelson Mandela
