Our Passion is Success!
At Erin Mills Middle School, we strive to create an environment where students can explore issues of diversity and equity. Using their own experiences and feelings, students are given the skills to explore the idea of choice and examine the consequences of their actions and the impact of change in a safe environment.
By June 2013, we will improve the collective sense of a safe, positive school climate by increasing positive student behaviours through a variety of proactive and responsive character and bullying prevention and intervention strategies. We will also increase the number of students who are achieving an excellent or good rating on the collaboration section of the learning skills section of the report card and raise achievement from 75% to 85% as measured by report card results.
We offer a variety of special programs that have long been an important part of our school community. These include a general learning disabilities class, two intermediate communication classes and the senior elementary alternative Program (S.E.A.P.). Our school works very hard to provide students with a variety of extracurricular activities in order to enrich every student’s school experience and allow them a variety of opportunities to find their strengths. Activities include junior and senior sporting activities, drama club, environmental club, school bands, yearbook club, Photoshop club, newspaper club, office helpers, students announcer, pizza helpers, our character education club (RRICCH) and student council. Our school is also proud to utilize our fully functioning design and technology room within our science program
Parents are important partners in our students’ educational experience and volunteers contribute to school life in a variety of capacities, such as working with students on their academics and assisting with our Breakfast Program.
