Homelands Sr. Public School is an active and productive learning community where staff, students and families work together to promote and attain student success in academics, citizenship and extracurricular activities. Students in grades 7 and 8 learn in a caring and empowering environment in which all abide by the Homelands Code of H.O.N.O.U.R. (Honesty, Open communication, Necessary learning skills, Opportunities for success, Unity and Respect) while striving to accomplish goals and celebrate achievements.
Homelands is also a regional centre for intermediate gifted students, and provides an enhanced and divergent program that builds on strengths, challenges abilities and promotes student leadership. Character education is embedded in all classrooms and subjects, our Code of H.O.N.O.U.R. and code of conduct. We are committed to ensuring all students feel safe, welcomed, respected and included.
At Homelands, participation in the numerous and varied extracurricular activities is strongly encouraged, as they provide another exciting avenue in the development of leadership, teamwork, social skills and individual growth. In every aspect of school life at Homelands, students are encouraged to learn, lead, strive for excellence and plan for the future.
