Glenhaven Sr. Public School is a vibrant middle school where there is “something for everyone.” In addition to academics, our students have the opportunity to participate in the arts (e.g., vocal and instrumental music, visual arts), leadership development (e.g., ambassadors, athletic council, student parliament, kids now mentoring program), physical education (e.g., intramural, skating, swimming, house leagues) and curricular clubs (e.g., math league, Mathletics, Homework, Counting On You, OFIP Tutoring etc.) The Glenhaven community also benefits from our strong partnerships with Big Brothers, Big Sister Mentoring, the Burnhamthorpe Community Centre and the Dixie-Bloor Neighbourhood. We strive to prepare our early adolescents for the 21st century in a safe, caring, inclusive environment where mutual respect is valued in our pursuit of knowledge, excellence and self-fulfillment.
We value open and honest communication and collaboration between students, staff, parents and the community; honouring diversity and encouraging respect and understanding for others; empowering students to make decisions, solve problems and set goals for a successful future and an instructional program that includes ongoing reflection, learning goals, differentiated assessment and evaluation and that celebrates everyone’s successes.
