Nahani Way Public School welcomes kindergarten through grade 5 students in the heart of Mississauga. We are home to a specialized developmentally delayed program, family literacy nights, a settlement worker outreach program, approximately forty languages and a number of community and corporate partnerships. We share our campus with the YMCA Family Day Daycare who provides all day pre-school programming as well as before and after school care for school age children. We work closely with our neighbouring Frank McKenchnie Community Centre and Library as well as being active members of the Acorn Community Network.
At Nahani Way, every child has dreams, goals and great potential. We know that everyone can be a superstar and we are proud of how our students, staff, parents and community play, learn, and grow together to support students’ aspirations. Every day, our school learning community strives to ensure an optimal safe, comfortable and inclusive learning and working environment for all.
We focus on individualized student needs by co-developing skills to ensure students are problem solvers and lifelong learners, prepared for middle school and tomorrow’s world. Specifically, we are focused on improving student achievement in reading, writing and mathematics. We aim to close the achievement gap between genders and between those from different demographics.
In addition to our strong focus on academics, we imbed character education into our programming. Our school STARS values are Success, Team Player, Achievement, Respect and Safety. These values align with our school wide bullying prevention initiatives and the character traits of the Peel board. This includes our commitment to social justice and environmentally responsible practices as demonstrated in school initiatives such as Celebrity Chefs, Student Nutrition Program, Helping Hands, Student Ambassadors and our Idle-Free Zone.
