Huntington Ridge Public School is a diverse and inclusive community of learners, accountable for developing character through individual and collective growth. We do this within a safe and respectful environment through collaboration and a commitment to learning.
The Huntington Ridge learning community values: the uniqueness and ability of individual learners, diversity and equity of opportunity; open and clear communication, teamwork, learning together and partnership with all stakeholders; risk-taking for learning, fun, creativity, curiosity, optimism and integrity; shared professional knowledge and skill, and accountabilities of staff and students for continuous focused improvement and personal best and a safe, secure, empathetic and respectful learning environment where all efforts are valued, all voices are heard.
At Huntington Ridge, students, staff, parents and community partners work together in a caring environment to help students achieve their personal best!
As a school we continue to deepen our work on character education in order to help our students understand and bring to life our school mission statement: Respect; Learn; Achieve.
The Peel board has implemented a set of consistent character attributes throughout all Peel schools. These are the core attributes we've always valued, and we encourage our staff and students to be caring, cooperative, honest, inclusive, respectful and responsible. At Huntington Ridge we have built upon these core attributes to create the Huntington Ridge HEROES.
Through Spirit Days, assemblies, classroom activities, a variety of extracurricular activities and other school events, students learn what these attributes and characteristics look like and sound like on a day-to-day basis. Students are learning how we can all be HEROES!
Our dedicated staff provide unique opportunities for parents to partner with the school to enhance student success. We host three successful and well attended Family Fitness Nights each year which provide students and their families with opportunities to learn about and engage in activities that support a healthy, active lifestyle. Family Literacy Night and other curriculum-focused events for parents serve to extend the home-school partnership. Our Welcome to Kindergarten event each spring is aimed at providing newly registered pre-kindergarten children and their families with the resources and experiences to begin their formal education with a foundation in early learning that is nurtured within the home.
We welcome students from kindergarten to grade 5 as well as students registered in a specialized Primary Transition Program. We share our facility and partner with PLASP Child Care Services which provides all-day pre-school programming as well as a before and after school program for school aged children. We look forward to welcoming you to our dynamic learning community.
