Student Information
Learning online is both similar to and different from learning in a classroom. As a student you will still read, work on your own and as a member of a group, complete assignments and interact with your teacher. As well, you will complete quizzes, add to discussions, complete research and report online. However, you can not do everything online. Most courses will require you to research and practise skills off line. Talk over your choice of online courses with your guidance counsellor. You should also be aware that teachers regularly use Turnitin.com to check for plagiarism in student work.
You should be familiar and comfortable with using a computer. Please make sure you do the self-test before registering for an online course.
You will need to have access to a computer (minimum requirements):
Windows PC Pentium 233 (Pentium 4 recommended) CPU, 256 Mg RAM, 16 bit sound card, 800 x 600 Display resolution on your monitor, 8X CD-ROM, Windows 98, ME, 2000 or XP, 56 Kbps modem, printer, Internet Service Provider Browser: Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher, Netscape 7.0 or higher, Mozilla 1.7 or Firefox 1.5 ( not AOL we do not support it).

All other requirements to match the equivalent Windows PC above. Browser: Mozilla 1.7 or Firefox 1.5 ( not AOL we do not support it).
Our course management system does require cookies on the client browser. And you must turn off any popup blockers since all courses have popup windows included.
