Queenston Drive Public School kicks off “LGBT: Let Me Be Me” celebrations
Queenston Drive Public School kicked off its, "LGBT, Let Me Be Me" celebrations yesterday by posting a large rainbow flag on the school's fence. As part of the week-long celebrations, students will have the opportunity to participate in activities aimed at educating students, including lunch time crafts with an "acceptance" theme, a door decorating contest, a rainbow cupcake sale, a PINK Day Assembly & Community Parade, classroom lessons centered around the books "The Sissy Duckling" and "Tango Makes Three" and a surprise flash mob. Students want to talk and learn more about LGBT and we hope that these celebrations will provide a forum for students to talk about bullying in a meaningful way.
