The Peel District School Board partnered with the City of Brampton for a pilot project that would benefit students and businesses downtown Brampton. The Heritage, Arts, Creative and Entertainment (HACE) provides strategic direction, advisory support, and key decision-making on the HACE Downtown Creative Economy Plan 2011-2016. Students participated in a co-op placement with a local businesses that are part of the the HACE committee.

located on the city's website. For successful completion of the placement, students were awarded a $1,000 scholarship.
