Sukhdeep Kaur Chohan receives the 2013 Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence
Sukhdeep Kaur Chohan, teacher at Hickory Wood Public School, was the recipient of the award for her dedication in the classroom. Chohan teaches students from kindergarten to grade 5 in English as a second language, math, science and social studies.
Dancing their way through the cultures of the world, making sundaes to learn about probabilities and mini-pizzas to learn about fractions, Chohan creates a creative environment for her students. She inspires self-awareness and belonging and a sense of community.
