Clark Boulevard will kick-off a walking program with a walking school bus convoy on Nov. 6. The STEPS to School with support from Region of Peel Public Health. The purpose of this program is to get students and parents more active by walking to and from school at least once a week. Clark Boulevard will promote Walking Wednesday’s throughout the year.
How can you participate?
• Join your child on the walk to or from school
• Alternate walking groups of children with other parents to juggle busy schedules
• Teach your child and their friends pedestrian safety tips when walking to schools
• Encourage your child to join lunchtime walking clubs to stay active, if they must be bussed to school
The more active kids and teens are earlier on in their lives, the better chance they have of developing life long physical activity behaviours into adulthood. Physical fitness levels are linked to positive health outcomes, such as:
• Healthy body weight
• Improve mood
• Academic performance
• Overall quality of life
Clark Boulevard is located 201 Clark Boulevard in Brampton.
