Peel students place first in French public-speaking competition
Three Peel students won awards at le concours/festival d’art oratoire, the annual French public-speaking event organized by Canadian Parents for French (Ontario) and the Ontario Modern Language Teachers’ Association. This event took place on May 11 at York University’s bilingual campus, Glendon College. Clarkson Secondary School students, Liam Bekirsky and Jounaid Lyaghfouri placed first, while Vivian Peng from The Woodlands School came in third place.
First-place winners win a $1,000 scholarship to York University, and will advance to the National Concours at the University of Ottawa on May 25.
