Maple Wood Public School will host its second annual Leader in Me Spring Fair on June 22 to focus on developing 21st century skills in students, and equip them with the necessary skills and mindset to become positive, caring and creative global citizens. All Peel staff, students, families and community members are invited to attend this free event.
The fair gets its name from the school's process of implementing The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People called The Leader in Me. The process utilizes the principles of these seven habits to show students, staff, parents and community members how to demonstrate the Peel board's character values and the innovative elements of Empowered Modern Learners. The event provides students and parents with the opportunity to learn and develop these seven principals in a fun, comfortable, engaging and entertaining environment.
At the fair, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in the following activities:
- View student presentations that display principles from the seven highly effective habits
- Participate in outdoor and indoor games, including a bouncy castle, balloon toss and more
- Henna tattoos
- View musical performances by students
- Food and refreshments, including BBQ, popcorn, cotton candy, jerk chicken, peas and rice
