Chris Hadfield Public School opened their doors to the school community on May 24 for their annual Family Wellness Night to celebrate its Healthy Schools gold certification from OPHEA. At the event, students and staff promoted and encouraged families to incorporate physical activity, mental wellness and healthy eating habits in their daily lives.
OPHEA awarded Chris Hadfield with the gold certification for its significant efforts in promoting and enhancing the health and well-being of students, school staff and its community.
Families rotated between four different stations through the evening; Cricket and football with Aussie X, a dance workshop with Movement X, yoga with Moksha Yoga and a bicycle rodeo with the Peel Safety Village.
The event also featured a marketplace complete with community vendors and provided families with the opportunity to learn more about different summer camp programs, art clubs and many more organizations from the local community that strive to support healthy, active families.
