On Feb. 28, the Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) recognized Sir William Gage Middle School with the Dr. Bette M. Stephenson Recognition of Achievement for its supreme efforts in its use of data to personalize learning in support of their students. As a result, Sir William Gage has seen a significant improvement in EQAO results of its students as part of this year's EQAO Forum on "Data, Equity and a Culture of Hope."
Staff at Sir William Gage focused on better understanding the strengths and needs of its students, increased parent and community engagement, and developed and implemented a special education support model to personalize the learning experience for its students. All of which contributed to its students improvement demonstrated through EQAO results.
Each year, EQAO recognizes schools in Ontario for their use of data to enhance and support their students through the Dr. Bette M. Stephenson Recognition of Achievement program.
