Grade 4 and 5 students from Clark Boulevard Public School has been recognized as Ophea's January Feature Healthy School for its commitment to encouraging students, staff and parents to incorporate healthier practices into their daily lives. In recognition of the school's outstanding participation, Ophea named Clark Boulevard as the winner of its #HSCertES Twitter January contest.
Since joining Ophea's Healthy Schools certificate program last school year, Clark Boulevard has taken part in a variety of school-wide initiatives. This year, students and staff will focus on healthy eating. As part of this initiative, students are working with school staff and nurses to bring a water bottle filling station to its school. Currently, the school is implementing a "Food of the Day," including Mango Monday, Tomato Tuesday. Last year, the school focused on healthy activities and incorporated a variety of initiatives, including Family Fit Day and cross fit workouts.
Ophea's Healthy Schools Certification recognizes and celebrates school communities for promoting and enhancing the health and well-being of students, school staff and its community.
Every month from now until the end of the school year on June 2018, Ophea will feature a school that is a part of Ophea's Healthy School certificate to share their success stories, challenges and ideas that support their healthy school initiatives through its Twitter Contest. These Healthy Schools can enter the contest by actively sharing its healthy school events, stories, photos and more using the hashtag #HSCertES on Twitter. The winner will win a $50 gift card and a feature in Ophea.net blog.
