Jean Augustine Secondary School’s culinary students receive recognition award from the City of Brampton
Culinary students from Jean Augustine Secondary School's hospitality program received a recognition award from City of Brampton Mayor Linda Jeffrey for their significant contributions for SEVA Food Bank, a non-profit initiative of the Sikhs Serving Canada Association. Students received the award for their outstanding contribution to fighting hunger in its community.
Students from the culinary program regularly cook, prepare and deliver meals for members of SEVA Food Bank. The SEVA Food Bank provides safe, nutritious foods to low-income families and coordinates a wide range of programs that help address hunger and poverty. This initiative is part of student efforts to make an impact on their local community. Jean Augustine also support The Knights Table since September 2017. The Knights Table is a charitable organization that serves to help alleviate hunger in Peel Region and largely supported by more than 3,200 volunteers.
