Gordon Graydon Memorial Secondary School's Student Athletic Association (SAA) partnered with Peel Regional Police to raise $1,100 for Toys for Tots. Together, students and police stuffed the police cruiser with toys for the holiday season.
The SAA led the initiative to host a variety of fundraisers, including a bake sale and spirit wear sale. Gordon Graydon Memorial's Hawks team also faced-off with Peel Regional Police in a friendly charity basketball game, selling over 200 seats with overwhelming support from its community.
Every year, the SAA partners with Peel Regional Police for a variety of events. Last year, students raised $512 to sponsor an athlete for the Special Olympics and won the United Way Helping Hands award the last three consecutive years for their contributions.
Toys for Tots is a Canadian charity organization with partnerships, including the Canadian Armed Forces, to provide toys for children in need throughout the year.
