Castle Oaks Public School's student group RISE Boys, made their debut this December 2018 by organizing a school-wide food drive to support the Regeneration Community Services (RCS), a local soup kitchen in Brampton, for the holiday season. The RISE Boys rose to the occasion by spreading the word and encouraging others to participate in this giving season. Together, Castle Oaks delivered 55 boxes of food items to RCS.
The RISE Boy club was formulated in support of the Peel District School Board's We Rise Together, action plan to support Black male students. Students will engage in liberation workshops hosted by Jordan Veira, founder and director of The Heard and lead in the planning for Castle Oaks Black History Month workshops in the new year.
