Two Brampton and one Mississauga school have been announced as finalists in the Staples Canada Superpower Your School Contest. The contest will bring one school out of the top 100 in Canada closer to winning $25,000 in technology upgrades for their school.
The 2017 Staples Superpower Your School Contest, in collaboration with Earth Day Canada, recognizes schools that are doing their part to protect the planet.
Eagle Plains Public School and Louise Arbour Secondary School in Brampton as well as Castlebridge Public School in Mississauga are the three finalists from Peel. The schools have demonstrated environmental responsibility by implementing innovative environmental programs such as recycling of electronics and indoor planting.
Castlebridge Public School, Eagle Plains Public School and Louise Arbour Secondary School are also recognized for their environmental accomplishments and are certified as Ontario Eco Schools.
The top 10 winning schools will be announced April 22 .
