In partnership with Canadian Tire Jumpstart program and the Brampton Beast Hockey Club, Clark Blvd Public School has received its skate library. The library consists of 100 pairs of skates and helmets which will be used for a variety of purposes including supporting learners and the Physical Education program. The school will now be able to offer ice skating to junior students with instruction, and skates and helmets at local rinks.
In addition, the skates will be available for students to sign out and access community resources, such as the new Chinguacousy Park Ice Path, scheduled to be completed in the coming months. Students will be able to sign out the skates and helmets in the same manner that they would a library book to extend this activity with their families.
The discussions for the skate library started two years ago and Clark Blvd has been an active partners with the Brampton Beast and Canadian Tire Jumpstart for one year. Last year, both partners supported an initiative in the school where the Beast taught hockey to all of the Grade 4 and 5 students and the floor hockey team over an eight week period. They then donated 300 tickets for our community to attend a game together.
This year, Clark Blvd. plans to extend its partnerships and provide students with the opportunity to showcase their talents during the intermission of one of the home games. The school expresses its sincere gratitude to both the Canadian Tire Jumpstart program for their help in enriching the learning experience for students and helping the community have access to local resources.
