Central Peel donates 3,700 food items to local food banks
Staff and students at Central Peel Secondary School collected 3,700 food items for local food banks during Central Peel Gives a Meal, a joint drive with the Peel Regional Police. Students also raised about $500 in cash that was used to buy food donations. In total, the school donated more than 2,000 pounds of supplies to local food banks—the school's biggest campaign to date.
Students promoted the campaign throughout the school using posters, social networking and special events like a Foosball tournament and video games. The campaign even trended into the top five nationwide on Twitter.
