Staff and students at John Fraser Secondary School were joined by special guests on May 6 and 7 to celebrate the school's 25th anniversary. The event was recognized on Friday with a special assembly for all the current staff and students. Then on Saturday, an open house gave visitors from across the years an opportunity to visit the school and walk down memory lane. Music in the foyer, memorabilia and photos in the library, videos, awards displays and tours gave more than 300 alumni and family members the chance to revisit some of their favourite memories.
On Saturday evening everyone was invited to a social mixer to finish off the celebrations. Joined by special guests including past principals and former Ottawa Rough Rider Hall of Fame quarterback, Russ Jackson, attendees had many opportunities to reflect on great memories past and the great memories that have yet to be made at John Fraser. Current principal, Mary Nanavati, said the weekend was a great success and is proud of all the hard work that staff and students put in to make the events successful.
