Cawthra Park Secondary School student receives $80,000 Schulich Leader Scholarship
Amelia Carver, a grade 12 student at Cawthra Park Secondary School, is the recipient of an $80,000 Schulich Leader Scholarship. She was nominated by Cawthra Park staff for her outstanding academic and extracurricular achievements.
With an average of 95.5%, Carver is deeply involved in her school’s academic and extracurricular activities. She is a member of Cawthra Park’s ultimate Frisbee, dragon boat and badminton teams and is enrolled in the school’s regional arts dance program. Carver also attended the 2016 Model United Nations where she acted as a delegate and participated in mock UN scenarios. She will pursue post-secondary studies in engineering at Western University in September 2016.
The Schulich Leader Scholarship is awarded to high school graduates who plan to enroll in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) undergraduate program at participating universities in Canada and Israel. A total of 1,512 students were nominated for the Schulich Leader Scholarships this year, with 50 undergraduate scholarships awarded.
