Oscar Peterson Public School student donates hair to support cancer patients
Oscar Peterson Public School began its annual Terry Fox Run fundraising efforts on Sept. 12 with a kick off assembly, where grade two student Yasmin cut and donated 12 inches of her hair to support children with cancer.
“Today I’m going to help draw a smile on someone else’s face and hopefully make them forget a little bit about the pain they go through during treatment,” said Yasmin. “I’ve been growing my hair for a year for a good reason!”
Last year, staff and students at Oscar Peterson raised over $7,300 in support of the Terry Fox Foundation.
