Children born in 2015 can start school in September 2019
Peel families of children born in 2015 can now complete the online kindergarten registration forms and visit their local Peel District School Board elementary school during school hours to register for the 2019-20 school year. To find out what school their child will attend, families can use the Find Your School tool on the board's website.
"Our staff look forward to welcoming new kindergarten students and families into schools for the first time and to share with them the great adventures coming their way as they play, wonder and learn in kindergarten," says Peter Joshua, director of education. "Starting school is a big step for families and, at the Peel board, we want to do everything we can to ensure the registration process is as easy and convenient as possible."
Some elementary schools will be holding Kindergarten events in December to provide an opportunity for next year's kindergarten families to visit the school to learn more about the kindergarten program. The day will feature guided tours of some kindergarten classrooms, so families can see the kindergarten program in action. View a list of the elementary schools that are hosting a kindergarten event in December. Families are encouraged to contact the school or visit their school website for event times and details.
In addition, Peel board elementary schools will hold Kindergarten Registration Week from Jan. 14 to 18, 2019, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and in the evening on Jan. 17 from 5 to 8 p.m. Families will have the opportunity to meet school staff, register their child and learn more about the Start with a Smile kindergarten program.
