Eagle Plains collects pennies for Free the Children
Eagle Plains Public School participated in a penny drive organized by Mrs. Scordino’s grade 5 class. All money raised will be donated to Free the Children, a charity organization which helps provide clean drinking water for children in other parts of the world.
The grade 5 students were inspired into action after learning how Free the Children co-founder, Craig Keilburger, first decided to make a change in the lives of kids around the world. They used the curriculum on government in social students and collaborative learning partnerships within the school to create a Show Love campaign, which raised awareness while also collecting pennies.
