Peel Students Presidents’ Council presents quarterly report
Representatives from the Peel Student Presidents’ Council (PSPC) provided an update to the board of trustees about recent activities of the council, including A Night for Action, an annual student-lead talent show that raises funds and awareness for charities. This year’s event supported OneProsper, a Canadian charity that provides innovative farming technology to small farmers in India to address chronic hunger.
PSPC is a student-run organization that provides a way for student councils across the Peel board to network, share ideas, provide feedback to the board and access leadership opportunities.

Board updates meeting schedule from Jan. to June 2013
The board approved changes to the Regular Meeting of the Board dates from January to June 2013. On Dec. 11, 2012, trustees approved changes to its practice of scheduling meetings on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month in order to accommodate holy days that are identified as significant in the board’s Holy Days & Holidays Calendar, effective Jan. 1, 2013.
As some of these changes create conflicts to trustees’ previous commitments during the 2012-13 school year, changes to scheduling of board meetings to accommodate significant holy days will take effect beginning in the 2013-14 school year.
