Manager, Abilities, Wellness and Attendance


The Peel District School Board Manager, Abilities, Wellness and Attendance will report to the Director of Human Resources Support Services.
Responsibilities will include: development of strategic plans to transform organizational policies, practices, performance, measures and outcomes in the areas of abilities and attendance; development, implementation and evaluation of case management, service quality standards and training plans for the organization; review and recommend amendments to policies and procedures and consult with key stakeholders on new policy development; provide lead role on the development, implementation and maintenance of the policies, procedures and guidelines related to AODA and Accessibility; responsible for providing leadership and expert advice to the Abilities and Attendance team; oversee the competition and selection of external providers by setting criteria and evaluating services; researching case law and analyze complex medical specialist opinions in order to determine best strategy and advice to the Board; approve expenditures within a defined budget; develop and implement various measurement tools to assess aspects of the program to ensure accountability for achievement of goals and provide continuous improvement; other duties as assigned.
•Post graduate diploma or degree in Disability Management, Occupational Health, Occupational/Physical therapy or related training in the broad field of health/medical or equivalent experience in combination with post graduate study in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations or Business
•A designated member of the following professional organizations is required: Canadian Disability Management Professional (CDMP); or Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP)
•Minimum of seven years of related experience in progressively responsible positions.
•Expert level of WSIB Policies and Procedures, Adjudication Standards, Workplace Safety and Insurance Tribunal decisions, WSIAT Practice Directions Human Rights Code and related practices and standards set by the Human Rights Tribunals, Accommodation and Cases Management practices
•Demonstrated knowledge of accessibility issues, standards and related legislation, regulations, statutes and codes
•Expert level knowledge and experience with project management, policy development processes, consultation practices, adult education principles, development of training programs, management practices, public consultation
•Effective supervisory and leadership experience 
•Excellent analytical and report writing skills and attention to detail
•Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal required
•Intermediate level of Microsoft Office, Vista, PAM, Parklane; advance level of Excel and Access
•Experience in managing departmental budget
•Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution and organizational skills 
•Ability to work under high pressure and tight timelines 
•Demonstrated commitment to working in a diverse school community and/or work environment 

SALARY:  Band Level 9 (Min. $89,599 to Max. $111,999) per annum (under review)
