Custodians in schools generally work an evening shift—3 to 11:30 p.m. In a secondary school, they can rotate day and afternoon shifts. Custodians are responsible for the cleaning, security and maintenance of our school and office buildings. Candidates for this position should have experience in cleaning or maintenance and be physically able to meet requirements of the job.
Head custodians and building supervisors work during the day and are responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the building. They co-ordinate the work of custodians and school attendants. These positions are filled by promoting internal candidates through a job posting process.

Criminal Record Check
For the safety of students, successful candidates will be required to submit a satisfactory criminal record check prior to the commencement of any employment duties. Recent changes made by the RCMP have resulted in significant processing delays for some candidates. You may wish to start the process to obtain your criminal record check as soon as possible.
